It becomes a habit to write this daily morning post and kind of promise to do what I write here. I really recommend you to start a journal. Once something is put in writing we are more likely to do. I read that somewhere…

This is one of the days that once you wake up they start not the way you planned them in the evening. A little of unexpected tasks that interfere with planned routine. And I am talking here about piano routine of course. So, my morning scales practice had to be moved to be done later during a day, and actually it will be done in the moments, as soon as I finish this post. I share it for just one purpose, to encourage you and me as well to whatever happens stick to your plan. It can be done later but must be done! We are in the business to play piano well, so to do it we need to practice. No matter what, but what is planned for a day must be done during a day. So, now, when I adjusted my plan for my day, I know what to do. I guess you have in your life same difficulties sometimes. Like mantra we need to repeat to ourselves: practice, practice, practice that is the only way to make progress. So, lets practice today even though it is slightly different then it was planned it is time to state what I will do and to keep my word I need to do it.
So today as usually:
30 min scales practice – mastering what I know how to play already and working on another scale Eb 🙂
60 min practice with my app (pianomarvel) and few pieces in scale Bb which I will record as promised at the beginning of the month. June in this case. 🙂
30+ minutes my fun session when I practice by playing pieces I know already and trying to work with that what is most important in music: heart! Putting some heart touch it is not easy, it is another skill that needs to be developed by paying attention to it. That is why I have this practice session in place. I really recommend you to have it. It is a lot of fun, and when something happens and you can sense the difference in your music delivery it gives a lot of joy. That what it is all about actually. Right? To have fun and joy of playing piano.
So, to finish this post, I wish you all the best for today, stay focused on your goals and do whatever it takes to stay on the right track. Take care 🙂

Repeated action is the key. I woke up with that thought. Literally. What it means for us? Well, for us that repeated action is to practice every day. It seems sometimes that and this is my experience, maybe yours too, that even practicing I feel no improvement but then it happens. It is easier after some time to comprehend new knowledge, master new skill. So, I encourage you to put an effort and sit in front of the piano and overcome the laziness that may come and it comes to all of us and push yourself to do one more step, to spend another 15, 30, 60 minutes and practice. Only through commitment and daily routine it can be done. Why waste time and make brake and do again what we just did day before? Why not help ourselves to make that step forward by letting new skill sink into our blood and move forward. Funny thing with learning piano, and anything actually is that there is always something new to master, something new to learn. In other words this process of overcoming difficulty is repeating over and over again. Good thing is that when we do it over and over again things that seem difficult yesterday become easy to perform. New things which are difficult today will be easy tomorrow… on condition that we follow that path: practice, practice, practice.
So, my friends answer yourself what is your plan for today regarding your piano journey? Are you going to practice? Do it 🙂 I will.
And here comes my plan for today:
ca. 30 min morning practice: scales practice (though it sounds boring, I kind of enjoy it already 🙂 )
afternoon practice. ca. 60 min: new skills development with my app PianoMarvel – I simply follow the program which is prepared there by smarter then me people.
evening session ca. 30-60min: I like this part the best, I play pieces I know already, I try… TRY some improvisation and to be honest I am really bad with it but it has to be done. Anyway it is fun.
Last thing I do, I simply am happy before I go to sleep being proud of what I did today to improve my piano skills. It helps to wake up in the morning and do everything over again. It wasn’t like that at the beginning, I guess it has to be developed by: practicing. So, lets PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE 🙂
Take care, till tomorrow.

Morning motivation is a great thing. I don’t know how about you, but I like to read few quotes from internet and think about them and I try to adjust it to my current situation. I think about what needs to be done today, and force myself to overcome any obstacles I have during a day to make things happen. It is easier once you are motivated. Try it. It really works. Takes some time to train yourself to stay focus on your goal for a day and in long term for the ultimate goal. But it is worth it. So, today quote to keep us going with our piano practice and our piano related goals is:

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.
– Eleanor Roosevelt
So, lets practice, whatever you have to practice: scales, new piece of music, right hand, left hand, hands independence etc. With each key hit we become stronger. With each key hit we discover new things, new experience brings thoughts that may or will improve the way we practice. There is no secret that, though we are all build the same way, we are all slightly different with the way we learn. We need to be smart and by actually doing something find the way that will fit us. Take advantage of other people experience, try it, see it works for you. If yes? Implement. If not? Try another thing. But it needs to be done every single day.
Lets not rest till it is done. Done our way to bring to the world what is inside us, something beautiful and needed. Lets play, not tomorrow, but today 🙂
My plan for today is to continue with scales and then practice three easy (not that easy yet for me) pieces to practice the scale I am on which is Bb. All with my app I am using to improve my piano skills (PianoMarvel)
Good luck with your plan and your practice. Lets make this day count 🙂 Take care till tomorrow.

There is always great day when we achieve something during that day. It doesn’t have to be big thing. I believe small things accumulated create great successes. So, lets create few small achievements today regarding our piano journey to make this day count. Lets create a plan for today’s practice and follow that plan. What is your plan? Take a pen and sheet of paper and create one. I use journal to design my days and with all power I have low or high I try to have all planned activities checked at the end of the day. It works for me, maybe it will work for you. But here we are all about piano, so my plan for today is:
In a minute after I finish this post I will practice my scales for 30 minutes.
After my morning routine I will sit back to my piano and practice scale Bb scale and two simple (not that simple for me yet) pieces of music. During this session I will as well learn something new following my app program.
Last session will be playing and developing pieces I know already. This is fun! This is the moment of creation for me. I believe it will be for you too. I keep it for the end so it is kind of reward for me for my commitment as well. Great stuff!
For the end, quote that motivates me, pushes me to take another step forward, maybe it will unleash the piano beast in you as well 🙂
“You can’t become a pianist merely by standing and looking at the piano. So… unfold your talent and start playing!”

New morning and back to my routine! 30 mins of scales in the morning. If you read what I wrote for last few days you know I had no access to my piano and practiced my scales on my paper piano. I think it wasn’t smart move. My fingers were stiff and couldn’t hit keys properly for first few minutes. It felt strange for the beginning. Luckily everything came back after ca. 10 minutes. I easily remembered scales, so practicing them in my mind, what I did during my holiday too, helped I guess. But practicing on anything different then real piano or proper keyboard is not that smart idea. At least for me. I could use this time to develop my theoretical knowledge, mistake done and learnt. Will be smarter for next period of piano break. Take advantage from my mistake. Or maybe it will work for you. Who knows. Anyway todays plan is:
Scales practice in the morning – DONE
New lessons from my app for about 1 hour – afternoon to be done.
Evening session with pieces I know how to play ca. 45 min – will be done.
What is your plan? Lets remember consistent practice brings us closer to promised land
Take care and have fun!

Trip day for me… this means I will practice but it will be in the evening when I am back in front of my piano During trip I can only practice in my mind which I am better now In my mind I am great well in front of my piano in reality there is still loads of practice in front of me. How about you? You need to practice? Lets be great and practice every single day! Have a great day and especially when you play whatever you can play Take care.

I don’t know how is today for you, but for me it is late scales practice on my paper piano due to my holiday which are about to end. On one hand I am sad. It is great to be with family, eating home made food from the past – you know, mom cooks the best dinners in the world, tastes bring memories back, good memories… too much TV for me though. I rather spend my time with piano. And this will be given back to me. Tomorrow evening I can sit in front of my piano. I guess you are more lucky and you have access to your piano. I want to think that you take advantage of that fact and you practice, practice, practice. (read more by going through post title 🙂 )
