June 24 – June 30, 2019

Hi piano and not only piano enthusiasts,

Again my piano practice plan for next week. Updated a little late, but this what you can find below I tried to follow. Of course it did not happen every day. You know exactly how it is when you plan something and not everything goes the way we plan it. Yes, it happens to me too. Nevertheless I tried my best to follow what I put in paper first and then transferred it here.

Most important thing that happened during this week it one incident that scared me a little bit, though it wasn’t that bad after all. It was pain in my forearm that appeared when I started to practice new material. Completely new chords. My left forearm started to hurt. I was scared that I may injure myself by playing piano and I will have to stop playing for a while. It did not happened though. I’ve noticed when I moved forward with my practice with different material that I tense myself during this new material. So, I decided to slow down with those exercises. I spend ca. 10 minutes practising slowly and then I moved forward to other material to play. It helped. Now, I can more easily do this exercises that caused me pain and speed up little by little. If you experience something similar just observe yourself. Check when and where and why it appears. You will find solution. Maybe seek some advice from more advanced in the instrument you play players/musicians and just correct what is wrong. It is a journey, and things like that for sure will happen from time to time. We need to stay focus and keep going. Sometimes doing things slow actually means in long term doing them faster. We don’t want to stop! We want to play one day beautiful music for ourselves and anybody who will like to listen 🙂

All right, below plan I follow recently. Basically it is copy and paste for me at this stage because it works fine for me with my other life obligation.

Create yours and try to follow 🙂

June 30, 2019:

I’ve decided to have even more fun with my piano and on Sundays I will just play music pieces I know to play them even better and just enjoy the music I can actually play. I will not skip though first part of my practise routine which are scales for now as a warm up exercises.

  • 30 mins with my scales practice using my app PianoMarvel.   <- you can try this app for one month for free 🙂
  • 90 min fun session – that is great time. No pressure or frustration from learning new skills. Just playing what I know, as good as I can. Simply enjoying piano.

I wish you loads of fun in front of your piano or if you play different instrument… have fun with whatever is your choice to play.

Me as usually now, I am using my app to learn. Feel free to try: Start here.

Take care.
